Decks, Porches & Repairs in Boone, NC

Decks built and rebuilt, stained and sealed, plus the wood repairs and small jobs a house always needs.

What is included

The outdoor work, and the jobs nobody else wants.

A deck in the mountains takes more sun, snow and rain than almost anything else on the house. We build them to cope, and look after the ones already there.

New decks and porches

Framed, decked and railed in pressure-treated lumber or composite.

Deck repairs

Soft boards, loose railings, worn steps and failing posts replaced.

Cleaning, staining and sealing

Washed, left to dry, then stained or sealed to shed water and resist sun.

Railings and stairs

Wood, cable or metal railings and safe, solid stairs.

Wood repair

Siding, fascia, trim, door frames and window sills cut out and replaced.

Pressure washing

Siding, decks, walks and drives cleaned at the right pressure for the surface.

In order

How a deck job runs, in order.

  1. Inspect and quote

We check the framing, posts and connections as well as the boards, then give you a written price.

  2. Repair or build

Structural problems are fixed first. New work is framed, decked and railed.

  3. Clean and dry

Existing wood is washed and given time to dry before any coating.

  4. Stain, seal, walk it

Finish applied in dry weather, then we walk the deck with you.

Good to know

What keeps a mountain deck sound.

Check the structure

Boards are easy to see. Posts, ledger boards and fasteners are what keep a deck safe, so we look there first.

Steep lots

Many decks here stand tall on a slope. Bracing and footings matter more the higher it is.

Regular sealing

Horizontal wood wears fastest. A deck kept sealed lasts far longer than one left bare.

Before you call

Questions we get every week.

Not covered? Call 828-964-2834.

Can you repair my deck, or does it need replacing?

It depends on the framing. If the structure is sound, replacing boards and rails is usually enough. If the posts or ledger are failing, we will show you and price both options.

How often should a deck be stained?

It varies with sun exposure and the product. When water stops beading and soaks in, it is time.

Wood or composite?

Wood costs less up front and needs regular staining. Composite costs more and needs little upkeep. We price both so you can compare.

Do you take on small repair jobs?

Yes. Rotten trim, a sticking door, a damaged section of siding. Tell us what it is and we will tell you if we can help.
