Remodeling Contractor in Boone, NC
Walls opened, basements finished, floors, stairs and trim. Built and painted by the same crew.
What is included
The carpentry, the drywall and the finish, under one contract.
Most remodels go wrong at the handover between trades. Ours do not have one. The people who frame the wall are the people who paint it.
Opened-up rooms
Walls removed or moved and beams installed, with engineering where the structure calls for it.
Basements and bonus rooms
Unfinished space framed, insulated, drywalled and trimmed into rooms you can use.
Flooring
Hardwood, luxury vinyl plank and tile installed, with subfloor repairs first.
Stairs and rails
Treads, balusters, newel posts and handrails rebuilt or replaced.
Drywall and ceilings
New board hung and finished, textured ceilings smoothed, water damage repaired.
Trim carpentry
Baseboard, casing, crown, wainscot and built-ins made to fit the house.
In order
How a remodel runs, in order.

We look at the space, agree exactly what is being done, and put the scope and price in writing.
Protect and open up
Dust barriers up, floors covered, then demolition. Surprises are dealt with here, with you informed.
Build
Framing, drywall, flooring and trim, in the order that keeps finished work from being damaged.
Paint and walk-through
Paint goes on last. Then we walk the job with you and close out the list.

Worth knowing about remodeling a mountain house.
Slopes and basements
Many homes here are built into a hillside. Lower levels need moisture checked before they are finished.Older cabins
Additions built at different times rarely line up. We expect out-of-level floors and plan the trim around them.Permits
Where a permit or a licensed trade is required, it is part of the plan from the start.Where we work
Boone, and the mountain towns around it.

Do you do the remodel and the painting?
Yes. One crew, one contract. That removes the gap between trades where most schedules and budgets slip.
Can you take out a wall between my kitchen and living room?
Often, yes. If the wall is load-bearing it needs a properly sized beam, and we will tell you what that involves before you commit.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. A single room of flooring, a stair rail or a drywall repair are all fine.
How do you handle changes during the job?
Any change is priced and agreed in writing before the work is done, so the final bill holds no surprises.
